July 16th - 12pm - 6pm - St. Luke Community Healthcare is hosting an American Red Cross blood in the shell. Blood donations typically decline during the summer months, yet the need for blood stays the same and in some cases actually increases. You can help ensure there is an adequate blood supply this summer by donating at the St. Luke blood drive. Blood donors must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health and not have donated blood in the last 56 days. Donors should remember to eat a complete meal and drink plenty of H2O or other non-caffeinated beverages before donating blood. To schedule an appointment please call Cindy, St. Luke’s at 528-5269. If you have questions about whether you are eligible to donate blood, please call a donor health counselor at 800-737-0902. Walk-ins are welcome, and remember to bring positive ID to your donation.
July 17th - 22nd annual Tim Ryan Scholarship Golf Tournament at Mission Mountain Golf Course.
Money raised provides yearly college scholarships for Mission Valley youngsters.
Pig roast and music scheduled to start at 5 p.m. Original members of the award winning country band “Exile” will reunite for a 90-minute show playing their hits from the 80s. Dinner tickets also are available at the golf course. Call 676-4653 for additional details.

1pm - 2:30 p.m. Musicians will play the music of Marini and Corelli Bach while Tribal members will play traditional flute, large drum while singing songs of the Salish and Kootenai People. Last year Dancers drew out the baroque musicians to dance at the outdoor pavilion at the Peoples Center.
Drum. Dance. Baroque. Feast. Event is free and open to everyone.

10am -What the Heck is This? Tim Ryan tells stories about traditional objects used by tribal people, how they made fire, carried their things, caught fish, and tanned hides. In the Polson Flathead Historical Museum’s Kids Korner for ages 6-8.

MISSION VALLEY QUILT GUILD has a fabulous show during the fair: July 30-August 1, 10am-7pm. The quilt show will be held at the Ronan High School. An extra feature of the show will be "Montana Men Who Quilt".

July 30th - August 1st - Main Street Gallery First Annual Plein Aire Paint Out
ORIGINAL ARTWORK OF THE MISSION VALLEY - The Main Street Gallery of Ronan, Montana will host its first PLEIN AIRE PAINT OUT for the Mission Valley on July 30, 31, and August 1, 2009. A reception will follow to view the completed works and meet the artists on Saturday evening, August 1st from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Main Street Gallery, 400 Main Street SW, Ronan. There will be lively Irish tunes and songs presented by a local group of musicians, Mariss McTucker on the mandolin, Stacy Sullivan on the fiddle and Chris Sullivan on the flute. All of these events are free and open to the public. Exhibition will be on display through September 10, 2009.
This is an exciting opportunity for the public to view 12 major Montana artists painting in various locations in the Mission Valley over a three day period. On Saturday, August 1st, the last day of painting, the artists will be in the general downtown area of Ronan and the Fairgrounds where the Lake County Fair will be in progress. For exact locations viewers may contact the Main Street Gallery and pickup a map of where each artist will be working that day.
The artists participating are: Robert Akey, Whitefish; Shirley Cleary, Great Falls; Pat Lambrecht-Hould, Lakeside; Mimi Grant, Great Falls; Lindy Johnston, St. Ignatius; Phil Korell, Polson; Tara Moore, Polson; Mark Ogle, Kalispell; Gary Schildt, Browning; Sue Toppen, Polson; & Ron Ukrainetz, Great Falls.
Also, on August 1st, jewelry artist, Janice Brooks will be demonstrating her beading technique in the Gallery from 10 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
